Tradie CFO was founded in 2014 by Nicole Hurkens, a Certified Practicing Accountant with over 15 years’ experience working with Tradies and Builders.

Nicole grew up around the family cabinet making business operated by her parents Gerald and Wendy. She remembers when things were good, but more vividly when things were challenging for the business and hence family life.

When times were tough, Gerald would be working harder and longer hours to get on top of things. He was never off the tools which left little time to live life and create memories..

This spurred Nicole’s journey into becoming an Accountant and to build a solution to improve financial literacy and certainty for business owners. To build and grow a sustainable business, to help you get off the tools, so you have more time and money to create memories with your family.

Since 2009 Nicole has worked alongside Gerald in their family business Overlanda Caravans. Nicole is only too familiar with the uncertainties that life throw you, Gerald was diagnosed with stage four cancer in October 2018. With the solid foundations placed, systems, processes and a well cultured team, Gerald was able to step away from the business to undergo treatment. Sadly, he lost his battle in March 2020. Proudly the legacy at Overlanda Caravans continues, run by an exceptional team and overseen by Nicole.
